Jonathan Bree once again proves his mastery of visual storytelling with the launch of his otherworldly new video for ‘Slow.’ Built over an irresistible, alluring groove, the track pairs Bree’s signature baritone with seductive vocals from long-time collaborator Princess Chelsea. It also features guitar playing by Dean Wareham (Galaxie 500) who provides an ethereal solo for the bridge/outro.
Departing from the darker visual aesthetic of previous releases from his acclaimed album Don’t Call It Love, the video for ‘Slow’ is set against an icy blue sky with clouds of bubbles drifting by. The performers command the screen in striking all-white attire - accented by Princess Chelsea’s bold pairing of a plush fur jacket and mini skirt.
A standout highlight from the album’s second half, ‘Slow’ features a soaring, unforgettable bridge that captures the album’s overarching sense of sensual existentialism: “Gonna love you like it’s armageddon, love until annihilation.”
