‘Savour My Love’ is a cinematic, darkly rendered art pop work taken from Jonathan Bree’s forthcoming album Don’t Call It Love, releasing on 27 August.
The track features Rachel Clarke on lead vocal and draws on an austere, noir-leaning palette It unfolds through minimal, dry percussion and a slow, deliberate pulse, bringing to mind Portishead and the sensuality of Serge Gainsbourg.
Clarke’s vocal moves from close, almost whispered restraint into soaring intensity, culminating in striking high-register passages that cut cleanly through the arrangement.
The music video draws on the theatricality of Cher’s variety show, complete with an outfit reveal, and features a mannequin band dressed in Jonathan Bree’s stage attire. Clarke is the sole living presence, framed within a Lynchian, tube-camera world self directed alongside fellow musician Lawrence Arabia.
‘Savour My Love’ offers a glimpse into Don’t Call It Love - a concept-driven double album exploring sexuality and featuring collaborations with women across music, film, photography, and dance.
Don’t Call It Love (out August 27) is the sixth studio album by Jonathan Bree and is an erotic concept driven work exploring sexuality and featuring collaborations with women across music, film, photography, and dance.
